Monday, June 8, Musical Game Day, 1:00-2:00 p.m, K-2., 
Kick-off week for Reading to the Rhythm begins with Musical Game Day. Story, craft, and musical games!

 Tuesday, June 9 and Thursday, June 11, Storytime-                                                             Join Ms. Anita for stories, a craft and refreshments! Learn new skills and meet new people. This program is meant for children ages 6mos-5 years. Sign-up for Tuesday or Thursday morning.

Wednesday, June 10, 3D Sticker Workshop,  1:00 – 2:00 P.M.  Grades 3rd  - 5th                                                                             Join Megan Walsh from U of I Extension Office as she teaches kids how to make something simple and quick with an electronic cutter. Participants will learn how to trace images using the cutters vectors and basic geometry to create their own design. This is a great class for beginners.

 Tuesday, June 9 and Thursday June 11, Read to the Dogs, 1:00-2:00p.m.                                                                                       Each child  will choose a book to read to their fluffy canine companion. Parents may attend with children and assist in the reading, if necessary. Pre-register for your time slot!

We are having an extravaganza that includes Face Painting ,as well as Fire Spinners Nick Vitale and Friends . Acting Out Theatre Company are performing a selection from their summer production of CATS at 1:30p.m. Pre-register for a fun-filled afternoon!

Monday June 15,  Disney Day, K-2-  1:00p.m.  
We are celebrating all things Disney! There will be stories, crafts and more… Come dressed in a costume of your favorite Disney character.

A SUPER day of fun and activities celebrating our favorite comic book heroes and villains!


Tuesday, June 30, Food Sculptors, 1:00-2:00 P.M., Grades 3-5,                                                    Encourage the kids to play With Their food. Children will learn about food value and have fun making food sculptures from vegetables and fruits.

Thursday, June 18,  Ronald McDonald Magic Show, 1:00p.m.,  Kids PreK -2nd Grades                                                           
We invite Pre-K-2nd grade children to come to the Reading and Magic Show with the amazing Ronald McDonald. Each participant will receive a treat coupon from McDonald’s!

Saturday, June, 20, Lego Building, 1:00-2:00p.m., K-5th                                                            Children in Kindergarten-5 grade are asked to join us in creating fantastical objects with our Legos and meeting new friends!

Monday, June 22, Create a Soundtrack to a Book, 1:00-2:30p.m., K-2                                            Children will join Katrina Cessna local music instructor and Kankakee Youth Valley Symphony Orchestra leader in creating a musical soundtrack to a book. If your children enjoy drums, this will be a great program for them!

 Tuesday, June 23 or Thursday, June 25, 10:00 A.M.,  Tiny Explorers, 6 months-5 years,      Children explore hands on learning  using a variety of materials and activities. Counting, color and shape recognition and sensory development are included.

Tuesday, June 23, ONU Music Tour, 1:00-2:00p.m., 3rd-5th grade                                                  Join us for a musical tour on the ONU Campus. The tour will include a visit to Larsen Fine Arts Center, Centennial Chapel to see the magnificent pipe organ, and finally we conclude with a tour of Shine Radio. Participants will meet at ONU Admissions Office; Parents will need to stay.  A map will be available upon registration.

Thursday, June 25, Hide and Seek Science, 1:00p.m.-2:00p.m., All Ages

Don’t miss this special program by local science expert Tom Kearney of Earth Stewards.  Learn about nature, camouflage, and communication. A great afternoon of interaction and exploration.

Monday, June 29, Art to the Rhythm, 1-2:30p.m. , Grades K-2,
Children will join local artist Mary LeRoy for a time of creation and drawing using a variety of mediums, showing how art relates to rhythm.

Thursday, July 2, Movie Day, 1 P.M., All Ages                                                                       Join us for popcorn, lemonade and a movie that all members of the family can watch! Also occurring on Thursday, July 9th.

Tuesday, July 7,  Musical Shrink Art, 1:00 – 2:00 P.M., Grades 3 - 5   Create a Shrink Art Guitar Pick and scratch art guitar. 
Monday, July 13, Jump for My Heart!, 1:00 – 2:00 P.M. Grades K – 2  Discover and try out all sorts of jumping activities that keep the heart healthy.
 
Monday, July 13,  How It’s Made? Electric Guitar with Tim Wilhelm, 6:30 – 7:30 PM          College Professor Tim Wilhelm from KCC and special guests will be on hand to show us how electric guitars were made locally. You won’t want to miss the guitar performance!

Tuesday, July 14, How It’s Made. Violin with Scott Albert, 1-2:00 P.M., 3rd – 5th Grade  Local violin designer Scott Albert will show children in 3rd -5th  grade how a violin is made , step by step. Parents may attend the program as well. An afternoon of musical strings.

Wednesday, July 15, Art with Rhythm, 1:00 - 2:00,  3rd - 5th Grade  Local artist Mary LeRoy Instructs attendees how art relates to rhythm.

Saturday, July 18th, FINALE 1:00 P.M. at the Limestone Village Hall (across from the Limestone Fire Department) The Summer Reading Finale will have many fun things to do including a show from  Chris McBrien, Puppeteer and Magician.
