What's Going on for Kids!








Storytime Returns August 14th at 10:15 A.M.

Join us on Tuesdays as Storytime comes back from its vacation. Enjoy the mix of crafts, stories, and music to help young children develop a love for reading. Parents and guardians can bring their 6-months to 5-year-old children. This program meets every Tuesday.

Storytime at Night
Tuesday, August 14 
6:15 P.M. –7:00 P.M.
Enjoy the mix of crafts, stories, and music to help young children develop a love for reading during an early evening program for families with different schedules. Parents and guardians can bring their 6-months to 5-year-old children. This program will also occur August 21st, September 4th, and September 18th.




Monarch Book Club
Wednesday, August 22nd
6:00 P.M. – 7:00 PM
Kids in 1st -3rd Grade have their own book club. We will read the book of the month at our gathering time and have a crafting session. This program also meets September 12th.



BlueStem Book Club
Wednesday, August 29
6:30 P.M. – 7:30 P.M.
Kids in 3rd – 5th Grade will meet each month to discuss a book from the Bluestem Award Nominee list. Books will be available at the Front Desk. August’s selection is Game Changer by John Coy. This program will also occur on Wednesday, September 19th (Fish in a Tree).

GRFK - Back to School

Getting Ready for Kindergarten program welcomes you to come and the harvest season! This program, for children ages 3-5 years old who are not yet in kindergarten, is funded by a grant from the Community Works fund from the Community Foundation of Kankakee River Valley. 




Grandparents' Day Craft
Saturday, September 8
11:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M.

K-5th Grades
Have fun making a craft to celebrate our grandparents. There is no fee for this program, all supplies are provided.



 


Family Movie
Saturday, September 22nd
12:00 P.M. 

Join us for a family movie at the library when we show Coco. Popcorn and Lemonade will be served.

Our Lego building blocks and your creativity can only add up to lots of fun at the library. Join us and other Lego enthusiasts for an afternoon of building fund. For children in Kindergarten and up with their dads.
