What's Going on for Kids!








Storytime 
October 2nd, October 9th, October 16th, October 23rd, Ocotber 30th
10:15 A.M.  -
Join us on Tuesdays as Storytime comes back from its vacation. Enjoy the mix of crafts, stories, and music to help young children develop a love for reading. Parents and guardians can bring their 6-months to 5-year-old children. This program meets every Tuesday.

Storytime at Night
Tuesday, October 2nd, October 16, and October 30th
6:15 P.M. –7:00 P.M.
Enjoy the mix of crafts, stories, and music to help young children develop a love for reading during an early evening program for families with different schedules. Parents and guardians can bring their 6-months to 5-year-old children.


BlueStem Book Club
Wednesday, October 3
6:30 P.M. – 7:30 P.M.

Kids in 3rd – 5th Grade will meet each month to discuss a book from the Bluestem Award Nominee list. Books will be available at the Front Desk. 



Monarch Book Club
Wednesday, October 10th
6:00 P.M. – 7:00 PM
Kids in 1st -3rd Grade have their own book club. We will read the book of the month at our gathering time and have a crafting session. .







Zentangle Project
Saturday, October 13
1:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M.
For children in 1st  - 4th Grade
Discover fun and easy drawing with patterns. Learn how to draw animals or landscapes and fill them with patterns. There is no fee for this program, all supplies are provided.



Pumpkin Volcano
Wednesday, October 17th
5:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M.
Have you ever wanted to watch a pumpkin explode? Come to the Library to make a pumpkin volcano and watch a pumpkin explode, outside. For kids in Pre-K through 2nd Grade.


Lego Building – Family Style
Saturday, October 20th

Pre-K &Up
Our Lego building blocks and your creativity can only add up to lots of fun at the library. Bring the family and join other Lego enthusiasts for a drop-in time of building fun. For children in Kindergarten and up and their family members.



Pumpkin Carving Contest
Wednesday, October 24th
6:00 P.M. - 7:30 P.M.
For kids in 3rd - 8th Grade
Come out to the Library and participate in a Pumpkin Carving Contest!
Pumpkins will be displayed and judged at the Fall Festival and the winners will be awarded.

Getting Ready for Kindergarten - Little Buck-a-Roo
Thursday, October 25th                               
6:30 P.M. – 7:30 P.M.
Ages 3 – 5 years old
Join us as we have fun playing cowboy as a part of our yearlong Getting Ready For Kindergarten (GRFK) program. You must be in the GRFK program in order to participate. This program is funded by a grant from the Community Works fund from the Community Foundation of Kankakee River Valley.

Fall Festival
Trunk or Treat 
Friday, October 27th
11:30 A.M. – 1:30 P.M.                   
Come out and enjoy some fun trunks, candy, games, and food!
Dress up in your Halloween costume and come enjoy the fun!
