Happening at the Library


 The Friends of the Limestone Library's          semi-annual Book Sale's last day is                Monday, October 31.                                         The cost is $1.00 per bag. Fill a bag, pay only $1.00!

by volunteering?
Come to the next Friends of the Library meeting as they plan various ways to volunteer and assist the library.





Storytime 
meets Wednesday mornings at 10:15 A.M. in person with Ms. Holly reading an exciting picture book or two and work on a craft to help preschoolers discover the joy of reading! 
George, our giant stuffed monkey, will also attend for children who want to practice their reading skills by reading to George!





Join us on Saturday, November 5 at 12:00 P.M. as we make cute Coffee Filter Fall Leaves 
with coffee filters and paint and our die cut machines. 
This program is for 1st-5th graders.







Help us decorate our tree at the Kankakee History Museum’s Gallery of Trees on Monday, November 7 at 6:30 P.M. 
Join us as we make adorable Christmas ornaments featuring your picture on a wood circle in keeping with the theme of Family Holiday Traditions. 
We will be making ornaments for you to take home, and one for our tree at the museum. 
This is a family program.







The Library will be Closed on 
Friday, November 11 
in observance of Veteran's Day.
We will re-open on 
Saturday, November 12 at 10:00 A.M.

What's Happening at the Library

The Friends of the Limestone Library have set up their    semi-annual Book Sale in the lobby of the Limestone Township Library District. 

You can find books for all ages in a variety of subjects. 
Hardcover books cost $1.00, paperbacks are $.50. Audiobooks and DVDs are $1.00. Children’s books are $.50. 

Pay for your purchases at the front desk. 
Stock up for your winter reading pleasure.




Fall Leaf Lanterns

Adult Craft Night 
Monday, October 24
6:30 P.M.  

We will utilize Mason Jars and silky fall leaves to make
a lantern to brighten any
table top decor





Our monthly Writer’s Group will meet on Tuesday, October 25 at 6:30 P.M.  
We plan to edit and critique each other's work, becoming better writers in the process. When you sign up, please include your email address so we can send your writing piece to other members to critique ahead of time.

Have you heard about the design App, Canva, but were afraid to try it? 

Join us on Thursday, October 27 at 6:30 P.M. when we open up the computer lab and show people various tricks and tips on how to create social media posts using Canva in our Canva Graphic Design Lab.

Library Happenings

Join us for Science with Ms. Faith and Ms. Holly on Monday, October 17 at 6:00 P.M. Our intrepid staff members will demonstrate a science experiment using items you have at home. 

Kids will have a chance to do the experiment as well. 

This program is for kids in 1st through 5th grade.



We invite teens to come for Open Game Night on 

Tuesday, October 18 starting at 6:00 P.M. 

You can try out our ping pong table as well as various board games including Cards Against Humanity – Family Style.

This is a One Book One Community event. 





Fall Fest is Coming!

Join us on October 22 from 12:00 noon till 2:00 P.M. We will have fun yard games, a scavenger hunt, Trunk-or-Treat, and a haunted School House.

Coming to the Library

 


Paper Pumpkins - Adult Craft Night  

Monday, October 3 at 6:30 P.M. 

Spend Monday night at the library with family and/or friends while creating these adorable paper pumpkins. 



We invite teens (13-18) to bring some friends to make a collection of                    Fairy House Planters at our              YA Craft Night on                       Tuesday, October 4 at 6:00 P.M.      We will be using a terra cotta planter, sand, stones and other materials to create some magic.
