Local award-winning author Gary Moore will read from his latest book, The Final Service. There will also be a question-and-answer session.




Movie Day – Max 2 White House Hero
Friday, July 14th

All Ages
School is out! Come to the Library and watch a movie with your friends. Popcorn and Lemonade will be served.

Lego Building
Saturday, July 15th
1:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M.
Our Lego building blocks and your creativity can only add up to lots of fun at the library. Join us and other Lego enthusiasts for an afternoon of building fun. For children in Kindergarten and up.

Paint the Universe
Monday July 17th 
1:00 P.M.
K-2nd Grade
Younger children will create their own designs that reflect the universe. All supplies are provided there is no fee for this program.



Scrabble for Adults
Monday, July 17th
6:00 P.M. – 7:30 P.M.
Come out for a night of fun as you battle against opponents to see who can score the most points building words tile by tile.


Tiny Explorers
Tuesday, July 18th
10:00 A.M. – 11:00 P.M.
Playing at a number of stations, children will learn fine motor skills with the help of manipulatives. Activities are meant for children from ages 6 months to 5 years old.

Slime Science
Tuesday, July 18th
1:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M.
Kids in 3rd - 5th grade are invited to join  us as we work on the science of making ooey-gooey fun. All supplies are provided, there is no cost for this program. Register in advance by calling the Library at 815-939-1696.


Read to the Dogs
Tuesday, July 18th
6:30 P.M. – 7:30 P.M.
Children will have a chance to read aloud to the trained therapy dogs on hand, giving the children a sense of confidence and companionship as they read.


Metal Medallions
Wednesday, July 19th
1:00 P.M.
6th Grade and Up
Try your hand at metal working by creating a medallion of your own design. All supplies are provided, there is no fee for this program.

Adult Craft
Thursday, July 20th
6:30 P.M. – 7:30 P.M.
Get out for a night of Crafting a Prism Sun Catcher. All supplies are included and there is no fee.

Teen Art and Craft Show
Saturday, July 22th
11:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M.
Teens show off your mad arts and crafts skills at our open art show where you can display, and sell your art and craft work. Table space costs $10. Call the Library for more information.




Caudill Book Club
Monday, July 24th
6:30 P.M. – 7:00 P.M.
Kid in 4th-8th Grade get to meet each month to discuss a Caudill Award winning book from the past year. Books are available for pick-up ahead of time at the Front Desk. The selection for July is Rain Reign by Ann M. Martin

Teen Book Club
Tuesday, June 25th
11:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.
Read and discuss Y.A. novels for young adults in 9th - 12th grades. Books are available at the Front Desk. July’s Selection is The 100 by Kass Morgan.

Summer Reading Program Finale

Celebrate the end of a fantastic Summer Reading program with Chris McBrien, ventriloquist, singer, and performer. Prior registration is required for members of the summer reading program after completing their 500 minutes of reading. For more information, call the Library at  815-939-1696.
