Caudill Award Book Club
Monday, April 24
6:30 P.M. - 7:30 P.M.

Kid in 4th-7th Grade get to meet each month to discuss a Caudill Award winning book from the past year. Books are available for pick-up ahead of time at the Front Desk. April's selection is The Crossover by Kwame Alexander.

Teen Book Club
Tuesday, April 25                                                                                                                 6:30P.M.-7:30P.M.

Read and discuss Y.A. novels for young adults in 9th - 12th grades. Books are available at the Front Desk. April’s selection is Replica by Lauren Oliver

Storytime at Night
Thursday, April 27
6:30 P.M. - 7:30 P.M. 
Come for Storytime in the Evening. Enjoy the mix of crafts, stories, and music to help young children develop a love for reading. Parents and guardians can bring their 6-months to 5-year-old children.

Friday, April 28
Stuffed Animal Sleepover
Drop Off at 4:00 P.M.
Pre-K to  2nd Grade
It’s a Night at the Library for your favorite stuffed animal. Bring them to the Library at 4:00 P.M. on Friday afternoon. Then you come back to pick them up at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday. There will be a story time session along with pictures of what the stuffed animals were up to during the night.



Monarch Book Club
Monday, May 1
6:30 - 7:30 P.M.
Kids in 1st -3rd Grade have their own book club. We will read the book of the month at our gathering time and have a crafting session

Egg Decorating                                                                                   Friday, April 14                                                                                 1:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M.                            
Kindergarten and up                                                                            Make colorful eggs to decorate the season. All supplies are provided. There is not fee for this class.


Banzai! Financial Literacy
Monday, April 17
& Thursday, April 20
6:30 - 7:30 P.M.                                                                                                                                       
5th Grade and up
Banzai! is a computer-based educational tool that helps teach the value of a dollar. Sponsored by Riverside Community Credit Union, the program starts with a pre-test that takes the participant through a group of life financial situations. The program is held in two sessions. 

Tiny Explorers
Tuesday, April 18
10:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M                                                                                                            
Playing at a number of stations, children will learn fine motor skills with the help of manipulative toys. These activities are meant for children from ages 6 months to 5-years-old.

Dave Baron – Author
Pembroke: A Rural Black Community on the Illinois Dunes
Tuesday, April 18

Author Dave Baron will read from his new book about the Pembroke community in the eastern portion of Kankakee County. There will be a question-and-answer period as well.

Earth Day Celebration

Join us for an afternoon as we celebrate Mother Earth. This event is for kids in Kindergarten and up.
