School is out! Come to the Library and watch a movie with your friends. Popcorn and Lemonade will be served as we watch Cars 3.




Caudill Book Club

4th – 8th Grades
Kid in 4th-7th Grade get to meet each month to discuss a Caudill Award winning book from the past year. Books are available for pick-up ahead of time at the Front Desk. The selection for December is The Boy on the Wooden Box by Leon Leyson.

Read and discuss Y.A. novels for young adults in 9th - 12th grades. Books are available at the Front Desk. December’s Selection is Witch & Wizard: The Kiss.

Getting Ready for Kindergarten – My Furry Friends

Ages 3 – 5 years old
Join us as we have fun with our furry friends as a part of our yearlong Getting Ready For Kindergarten (GRFK) program. You must be in the GRFK program in order to participate. This program is funded by a grant from the Community Works fund from the Community Foundation of Kankakee River Valley.

Get out for a night of crafting a holiday décor item. All supplies are included and there is no fee.


Family Gingerbread House Workshop
Saturday, December 16
11:30 A.M. – 12:30 P.M.  or 1:00 P.M. - 2:00 P.M.
Children of all ages can make gingerbread houses . All supplies are provided; there is no cost for this program. You can choose to do either the 11:30 A.M. session or the 1:00 P.M. session. Parents need to stay with their child in second grade or below.

Author Visit – Drew Carriker

The library welcomes Limestone resident Drew Carriker, who will read and discuss his new book, Randolph the Blue Nosed Reindeer






The Library will be closed on Saturday, December 23rd and Monday, December 25th in observance of the Christmas holiday.

Sign up for GRFK at the front desk and receive a tote bag with materials to help you and your child on the journey to 1000 books before kindergarten. Lego Building

An Evening with Santa

Join the Friends of the Limestone Township Library District as they present An Evening with Santa. Don’t miss out on Santa reading Clement Moore’s ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas. Afterwards, the children can share their personal wish lists with Santa in the Peterson Schoolhouse. This program is for children in pre-school through 3rd Grade.
