Storytime at Night
Thursday, December 29 and January 5

6:30 P.M. - 7:30 P.M.
Storytime is a mix of crafts, stories, and music to help young children develop a love for reading. Parents and guardians can bring their 6-months to five-year-old children. 



Lego Building
Saturday, January 7
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Our Lego building blocks and your creativity can only add up to lots of fun at the library. Join us and other Lego enthusiasts for an afternoon of building fun. For children in Kindergarten and up.

Caudill Book Club
Monday, December 19
6:30-7:30 PM

Calling all kids in 4th - 8th Grade. Come together to read and talk about one Caudill book each month. This month we are reading Fish in a Tree. Pick up your copy when you register at the Library. Call the Library at 815-939-1696 for more information.

Tiny Explorers   
Tuesday, December 20                                                                       10:00 A.M.                                                                                          Playing at a number of stations, children will learn fine motor skills with the help of manipulative toys. These activities are meant for children from ages 6 months to 5 years old.
Make-it and Take-it Craft          
  Thursday, December 22                                                                                                                        1:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M.                                                                                                                          Kids in Kindergarten and up                                                                                                                Join us for a fun craft making session that can be made and taken home right away. All supplies are included, there is no fee.

The Library will be closed on Saturday, December 24 through Monday, December 26. We will re-open on Tuesday, December 27 at 10:00 A.M. We wish everyone a safe and wonderful holiday.

Family Gingerbread House Workshop
Saturday, December 10
10:30 A.M. – 12 Noon or 1:00 P.M. -2:30 P.M.
Children of all ages can make gingerbread houses using graham crackers and milk cartons. All supplies are provided; there is no cost for this program. You can choose to do either the 10:30 A.M. session or the 1:00 P.M. session. Parents need to stay with their child in second grade or below.

Monarch Book Club
Monday, December 12
6:30 - 7:30 P.M.
Kids in 1st -3rd Grade have their own book club. We will read the book of the month at our gathering time and have a crafting session.


Coloring for Adults
Monday, December 12

6:30 P.M. – 7:30 P.M.
Come for an evening of coloring and relaxation as you create beautiful pictures. Bring your own coloring book and medium (colored pencils, markers, or crayons), or use our colored pencils and coloring pages.


Adult Book Club 
Tuesday, December 13
6:30 P.M. - 7:30 P.M.
Join us for lively discussion as we explore various genres every month. It is our annual dessert/appetizer potluck as we pick out the books for next year’s reading list. Bring something to share and be ready to talk about books.




YA/Adult Holiday Ornament Craft
Thursday, December 15
 6:30 P.M. – 7:30 P.M.
Get out for a night of Crafting as we create a cute holiday ornament.  All supplies are included and there is no fee. This program is for Young adults from 7th grade and up and adults.
