Upcoming Events at the Library


Saturday, January 31, 1 – 2 P.M., Lego Building
Create houses, monsters, or futuristic vehicles with our Legos and your imaginations. Join others who like doing the same thing at our Lego building session. This event is for kids in Kindergarten and older.


Tuesday, February 3rd & Thursday, February 5th, 10:00 – 11:00 A.M., Storytime
Returning from its short winter hiatus, Storytime is a mix of crafts, stories, music and snacks to help young children develop a love for reading. Parents and guardians can bring their 6-months to five-year-old children.


Monday, February 9th, 1:00 – 3:00 P.M., Be Kind to Your Heart BP Check & Bingo Games
Please join Home Bound Healthcare for an educational talk on heart health that covers important stress management techniques, positive thinking, and tips for heart healthy living. A registered nurse will be on hand to take blood pressures and answer heart related health question.

Monday, February 9th, 6:00 P.M., Young Adult Book Club
This month, kids in 5th through 8th grade are asked to bring their favorite book and tell the rest of the group why they should read it. After the book discussions, there will be pizza for attendees to enjoy. 

Tuesday, February 10th, 6 – 7:30 P.M., One Stroke Painting with Kathi Eastman
Learn the One-Stroke Paint method with Kathi Eastman, a certified one-stroke instructor. We provide all of the materials, you provide the enthusiasm. There is a $5.00 fee that needs to be paid upon registration. Space is limited and registration closes on Friday, February 6th. Sign up quickly to reserve your spot.


 Tuesday, February 10th, 6:30 -7:30 P.M., Adult Book Club
Join us as we discuss the February selection of Death Comes to Pemberley by P.D. James. This book takes place six years after Elizabeth and Darcy' wedding marriage with startling new about one of Elizabeth's brothers-in-law. Every month we explore different genres and topics for lively discussions and sharing of opinions. 

Registration is required for all programs. Please stop in at the Front Desk or call the Library at 815-939-1696 to reserve your spot.

Upcoming Events at Limestone Township Library
Tuesday, January 13th and Thursday, January 15th at 10:00 a.m. Tiny Explorers Join us for a time of working with manipulatives to help develop grand and fine motor skills. On the 13th, we will have a furry visitor for a Read to the Dog session and the 15th is a program by The Exploration Station. For Children ages 6 mos. - 5 and parents/grandparents/guardians. This is the last Storytime/Tiny Explorers event until February.
Monday, January 12, 6:00 P.M., YA Book Club This book club is for kids in 5th through 8th grade as we read Zack’s Lie by Roland Smith. Tuesday, January 13, 6:30 P.M. , Adult Book Club Join the Adult Book Club as we start the New Year’s selections. This month we are reading The Friday Night Knitting Club by Kate Jacobs.
Saturday, January 17th, 1:00 P.M., Winter Reading Program Finale If you have participated in the Winter Reading Program, join us for games and refreshments and an all-around good time! Registration is required for all programs. For more information or to register for any of our programs, stop in at the Library at 2701 W. Tower Road or call us at 815-939-1696.


For those people who thought about stopping by for the E-Reader Pizzaz program scheduled for tonight, January 12th at 6 P.M., it has been canceled.
